Terms of Service

Last updated January 2025 · Effective immediately

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Paythos — the accounts-payable workflow platform — and its products and services. Please read these terms carefully before using our platform. They constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Paythos Ltd.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Paythos, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are entering into these terms on behalf of a company or legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our services.

2. Description of service

Paythos is a payment orchestration and governance platform. We sit between your business and your existing payment providers (such as Stripe, Wise, and Adyen), providing AI-powered invoice analysis, risk scoring, approval workflow management, and intelligent payment routing. Paythos does not process payments directly and is not a payment service provider.

3. Account registration

You must create an account to use our services. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update that information to keep it accurate. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at security@paythos.io of any unauthorised use.

4. Acceptable use

You may use Paythos only for lawful business purposes and in accordance with these terms. You agree not to: use the service to process transactions involving illegal activities; attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent any security measures; scrape, crawl, or systematically download data from our platform; or use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair Paythos infrastructure.

5. Billing and payment

Access to Paythos requires a paid subscription. Fees are charged monthly or annually as specified at signup. All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. We reserve the right to suspend access for overdue accounts after providing reasonable notice. Refunds are handled at our discretion.

6. Data and confidentiality

You retain all rights to the data you submit to Paythos. You grant us a limited licence to process that data solely to provide the services. We treat your business data as confidential and will not use it for any purpose other than providing and improving our services. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Intellectual property

Paythos and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the platform, including all software, algorithms, and associated documentation. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. You may not use our name, logo, or branding without prior written consent.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Paythos shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim. This limitation does not apply to fraud or wilful misconduct.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. We will retain your data for 30 days following termination, after which it will be deleted except where required by law. You may export your data at any time before termination.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
